Sydney Writers’ Festival's main precinct is at Walsh Bay. This comprises venues at Pier 4/5, Sydney Theatre and Heritage Pier (Pier 2/3). Events are also held at venues throughout the city, and in suburban Sydney and regional NSW. Detailed information on how to get to venues is available from individual event pages.
Shuttle Bus
From Thursday 21 May to Sunday 24 May, Sydney Writers' Festival and Sydney Buses will provide a return shuttle bus service from Circular Quay to the Festival precinct at Walsh Bay.
Buses will depart from the stop outside the Galleria Shops on George St (opposite First Fleet Park) every 10 minutes from 9am to 7pm for transfer to Walsh Bay. These buses are wheelchair accessible. The last scheduled return service to Circular Quay will depart from Walsh Bay at 7.20pm.
Tickets cost $1.00 flat rate on boarding. Travel10s, concession cards and Pensioner day tickets not accepted.
Parking
The closest off street parking is InterPark’s Car Park at 26 Hickson Road, just near the Sydney Theatre. Rates are: Mon- Friday $4 per hour and $10 Early Bird and $12 flat rate after 5pm and on weekends. There is also additional off street parking at Wilson’s Car Park at Town’s Place. Limited on street meter parking is available on Hickson Road.
Accessibility
The majority of Festival venues are wheelchair accessible and some are fitted with hearing loops. More detailed access information is available on individual event pages. The SWF Shuttle Bus is wheelchair accessible. After the Festival, some events will be available on our website as video or audio files.
