Sydney Writers’ Festival invites teachers and their students to join us for School Days in May 2013. School Days is a celebration of literature for children and young adults, featuring a handpicked line-up of writers for both primary and secondary schools.
Teachers, this is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with their favourite authors, discover exciting new voices and be inspired in a fun, educational and interactive day. In these hugely popular sessions, writers and illustrators will perform, read from their work, talk about their craft and take questions from the audience.
PRIMARY SCHOOL DAYS
Our Primary School Days line-up features award-winning authors: Brian Falkner, Sally Rippin and Jackie French, and writer-illustrator collaborators Nick Earls and Terry Whidborne.
We will present five sessions of Primary School Days in 2013 across Sydney, Parramatta and Penrith, including our special session at Sydney Town Hall, free for NSW Transitional Equity Funding Program Schools.
At City Recital Hall and Riverside Theatre at Parramatta Secondary School Days welcomes some of the finest writers for young adults: international superstar and New York Times bestselling author Libba Bray, critically praised and award-winning James Roy, comedian Danny Katz and writer and illustrator, Ambelin Kwaymullina.
