Welcome to School Days 2012

Sydney Writers’ Festival invites teachers and their students to join us for School Days in May 2012. School Days is a celebration of literature for children and young adults, featuring a handpicked line-up of writers for both primary and secondary schools.

Teachers, this is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with their favourite authors, discover exciting new voices and be inspired in a fun, educational and interactive day. In these hugely popular sessions, writers and illustrators will perform, read from their work, talk about their craft and take questions from the audience.

SECONDARY SCHOOL DAYS

eoincolfercroppedmalpeetcroppedAt Sydney Town Hall and Riverside Theatres in Parramatta, Secondary School Days welcomes some of the finest writers for young adults: local talent J.C. Burke, who talks to acclaimed debut author Vikki Wakefield; from the UK, rising star Lucy Christopher and award-winning novelist Mal Peet; and from Ireland, Eoin Colfer, author of the phenomenally successful Artemis Fowl series.

Sydney Writers’ Festival is committed to educating and inspiring young readers and writers. School Days brings literature to life, offering students a chance to meet the people behind the stories they love. Books by participating writers will be available for purchase from Gleebooks Festival Bookshop at each venue. The authors will sign books purchased at the event.
