Membership options
Individual membership
An annual Friends subscription costs $165 (inc. GST) and starts from April each year.
Book club membership
Members of book clubs who join together pay just $132 (inc. GST) for each annual Friends subscription (minimum 8 members). You will need to give us the name of your book club when you join and we must receive all of your members' applications within 5 working days.

Quote your membership number
You will be issued with a Friends 2008 membership card. Please quote your membership number when you buy your tickets.
Priority booking period for Friends
A limited number of seats will be set aside for Friends for each ticketed event. These seats can only be booked during the Friends' priority booking period, which runs from the release of the Festival program on April 5 until close of business on May 5. This means that even if an event has sold out to the general public, there may still be seats available for Friends. Friends seats are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Concession price tickets
Friends can purchase up to two tickets at concession price for each ticketed event at the Festival's main venues: Sydney Theatre, Sydney Opera House, City Recital Hall and The Wharf precinct. Concession prices are not available for literary lunches and workshops.
Priority seating at literary lunches
A table will be set aside at each literary lunch exclusively for Friends. If you would like to sit at the Friends table, book your seats within the Friends' priority booking period which runs from the release of the Festival program on April 5 until close of business on May 5. Please let us know you are a Friend when booking your tickets. Seats at the Friends table are limited and are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Tickets to the Opening Night Party
A limited number of tickets will be available for sale exclusively to Friends of Sydney Writers' Festival. Friends can buy a maximum of 2 tickets each. Tickets to the Opening Night Party are not on sale to the general public.
