PETER VAN ONSELEN (INTERSTATE)
Peter van Onselen is an Associate Professor of Politics at Edith Cowan University. He is a co-author of John Winston Howard: The Biography, and hosts a weekly radio program on ABC Perth. Dr van Onselen writes for various newspaper opinion pages, including The Australian, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian Financial Review.

His latest works include a book on the lead up to the 2007 election titled Howard's End. He is also editor of a collection of essays on the future of the Liberal Party. Dr van Onselen also continues to produce scholarly journal articles for domestic and international titles, including the Australian Journal of Political Science.

COLETTE VELLA (LOCAL)
Colette Vella is Commissioning Editor at Pier 9, an imprint of Murdoch Books, where her focus is on fiction and narrative non-fiction. She has worked as a book editor for over 13 years, beginning at HarperCollins, moving on to Allen & Unwin and then Granta Books in London. She has worked with several high-profile authors and award-winning books, and was part of the team that produced two winners of the Miles Franklin Award. She has just returned from three months in New York where she undertook the 2007 Beatrice Davis Editorial Fellowship.
