IRFAN YUSUF (LOCAL) IRFAN YUSUF is a freelance commentator, writer and lawyer. Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Irfan grew up in Sydney. In the early 1990s Irfan graduated in Economics and Law from Macquarie University where he presided over the then Islamic Youth Association of NSW. He has practised law since this time and his clients have included prominent Muslim bodies in Australia. Irfan joined the Liberal Party in 1993 and has held a variety of posts within the NSW Liberals and was prominent in the conservative wing of the Party. Once Were Radicals was the winner of the Iremonger Award for Writing on Public Issues.
