THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT
The world is in the grip of a global recession and it’s clear something systemic has failed. With governments forced to get their hands dirty, does this spell the end for freewheeling capitalism? Where does this leave the notion of individual responsibility at the heart of the free-market model?
A global crisis demands a global response and The Salon is no exception. In 2009 we'll bring together international experts to debate the economic and philosophical fallout. As always, there'll be plenty of time for you to put them in a credibility crunch by asking curly questions of your own.
Artist John Turier will deliver the 2009 Salon Artist's Talk, discussing the confluence of waste, renewal and consumer culture in his recycled sculptures. We’ll also showcase a slideshow of Turier's diverse and playful body of work.
With Vivienne Bath, George Friedman, Ross Gittins, Shaun Davies (moderator) and James Stuart (MC).
Presented with non generic productions.
