Darlinghurst Nights is a celebration of the work of Kenneth Slessor, and of the city he loved and wrote about. The poems will be sung or presented theatrically by the performers of Wordjammin’, with both improvisatory accompaniment and music written especially for the show by Ashley Chatto. Visually, the design interleaves images from contemporary Darlinghurst with the original illustrations from Darlinghurst Nights by Virgil Reilly. Many of the poems used are examples of Slessor’s lighter verse, but the program also contains some of his more serious work - such as William Street and Five Bells.
20% off dinner for show guests.
Presented by the Poets Union.
Change from printed program: The venue for this event has changed to Tap Gallery
