ANDREW DAVIDSON (INTERNATIONAL)
ANDREW DAVIDSON was born in Pinawa, Manitoba, and graduated in 1995 from the University of British Columbia with a BA in English literature. He has worked as a teacher in Japan, where he has lived on and off, and as a writer of English lessons for Japanese websites. The Gargoyle, the product of seven years' worth of research and composition, is his first book. Davidson lives in Winnipeg.

His participation is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.

ANDREA GOLDSMITH (INTERSTATE)Goldsmith, Andrea
ANDREA GOLDMSITH originally trained as a speech pathologist and was a pioneer in the development of communication aids for people unable to speak. Her first novel, Gracious Living, was published in 1989. This was followed by Modern Interiors, then Facing the Music, Under the Knife and The Prosperous Thief, which was shortlisted for the 2003 Miles Franklin award. Her literary essays have appeared in Heat, Meanjin, Australian Book Review, Best Australian Essays and numerous anthologies. She has taught creative writing throughout Australia, and has mentored several new writers.

ANTON ENUS (LOCAL)

ANTON ENUS, a broadcast journalist with more than 20 years’ experience, has been presenting SBS Television World News Australia bulletins since 1999.

He began his career at the South African national broadcaster, SABC, as a radio news reporter. He moved on to become a parliamentary reporter, current affairs producer, TV news reporter and TV presenter. Anton was part of the team that covered South Africa’s historic return to democracy in 1994 and, as specialist news writer for the SABC, he also filed stories from Rwanda, Burundi, Zaire, Uganda, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Anton spent seven years as a correspondent for CNN World Report, a global news program, where he won Best International Report for his story marking the 25th anniversary of Chris Barnard's pioneering heart transplant. Before leaving South Africa, Anton presented the SABC’s major evening national news bulletin.

In addition to reading the news, Anton hosts special SBS news events such as the 2003 nightly Iraq War program, the live studio debate on the Cronulla race riots and the annual Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism.

His favourite authors are J.M. Coetzee, Sebastian Faulks and William Wharton.
