Boyne_John
John Boyne (International)

John Boyne was born in Ireland in 1971. He is the author of nine novels for adults, five for young readers and a collection of short stories. Perhaps best known for his 2006 multi-award winning book The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, John’s other novels, notably The Absolutist and A History of Loneliness, have been widely praised and are international bestsellers. His most recent book for young readers is The Boy At The Top Of The Mountain, which sees him returning to the setting of the Second World War. His novels are published in over 45 languages.

 
Zorn_Clare
Claire Zorn (Australian)

Claire Zorn’s first young adult novel The Sky So Heavy received a 2014 CBCA Honour Book Award for Older Readers. Her second novel, The Protected, won the 2015 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards Young Adult Fiction, the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Young Adult Fiction, the 2015 CBCA Best Book for Older Readers and has been longlisted for the Gold Inky Award.

 
Wakerfield_Vikki
Vikki Wakefield (Australian)

Vikki Wakefield’s first young adult novel, All I Ever Wanted, won the 2012 Adelaide Festival Literary Award for Young Adult Fiction, as did her second novel, Friday Brown, in 2014. Friday Brown was an Honour Book, Children’s Book Council of Australia in 2013 and among other awards was also shortlisted for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Awards. Her new novel is Inbetween Days. Vikki lives in the Adelaide foothills with her family.

 
Grant_Michael
Michael Grant (International)

Michael Grant is the author of the bestselling Gone series, the BZRK trilogy and the brand new Front Lines trilogy. With his wife Katherine Applegate, he is also the co-author of Eve and Adam and the Animorphs series. Michael has written or co-authored over 150 books in total, which by his own admission is just absurd! Michael lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with Katherine and their two children.

Joy Lawn (Australian)

Joy Lawn is a freelance writer and reviewer for The Weekend Australian and Magpies magazine. Her work has also appeared in Books+Publishing, SMH and ABR. Joy judges several literary awards. She blogs about literary fiction, young adult and children’s literature at Boomerang Books blog and teaches at USQ (external). She is fascinated by ideas and images and how authors and illustrators express these with truth and originality.
