A contemporary and relaxed Quayside wine bar, Number One is the new star in Tony Bilson's firmament. From the Thursday to Saturday, it will become the place to be for all writers and readers looking for a post-event drink or a bite, and some very fine words. Guest reading appearances nightly from Thursday to Saturday during the Festival.

MTC CRONIN (INTERSTATE) MTC CRONIN has published 14 collections of poetry including several in translation, the latest being The Flower, The Thing. Her work has won and been shortlisted for many major literary awards both in Australia and overseas. She has studied arts, law, literature and creative writing. She worked for a decade in law before she began teaching writing in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. She currently lives on an organic farm with her partner and three young daughters.
JOHANNA FEATHERSTONE is the founder and Artistic Director of The Red Room Company. Her poetry has featured in journals such as Quadrant, and the Best Australian Poems. In 2006 she created a series of literary TV shows The Wordshed, in partnership with The University of Western Sydney where she is a research associate. Johanna is an honorary associate with The University of Sydney's School of Letters Arts and Media. In 2008 Johanna was awareded St James Ethics Center Vincent Fairfax Fellowship. She also hosts the “Inspired Reading” series at the Museum of Contemporary Art along with other public talks and literary events.
ADAM AITKEN (LOCAL) ADAM AITKEN spent his early childhood in London, Thailand and Malaysia before settling in Sydney. As well as numerous articles on poetry, a PhD thesis on Asian-Australian literature, academic articles and works of creative non-fiction, he is the author of four full-length collections of poetry. He recently spent a year in Cambodia working on his latest book of poems, Eighth Habitation. He has been an English teacher in Indonesia and lectures in Academic Language and Literacy at the University of Technology, Sydney.
LACHLAN BROWN (LOCAL) LACHLAN BROWN studied poetry at the University of Sydney. His poems have appeared in Heat, Southerly, Total Cardboard and Philament. He was shortlisted for the Blake Poetry Prize in 2008 and is a recipient of the Marten Travelling Bequest for poetry. Lachlan lives in Southwest Sydney and teaches at William Carey Christian School in Prestons.
