Colombia’s Ingrid Betancourt, Pakistan’s Fatima Bhutto and Sierra Leone’s Aminatta Forna are all from political families. Each has suffered extraordinary trauma, including the assassination of family members and, in Betancourt's case, captivity. They talk to Maxine McKew about how they feel about the responsibilities of their family business.

‘The Memory of Love’ is winner of the 2011 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Book (Africa).
