A.M. Homes’s latest novel May We Be Forgiven, winner of the 2013 Women’s Prize for Fiction (formerly known as the Orange Prize), is a breathtakingly dark satire of modern American life. It has a devastating car crash, adultery and murder within the first 14 pages and it never lets up as it charts the increasingly out of control life of Harry, a middle-aged professor of Richard Nixon studies. A.M. talks about her writing with Susan Wyndham.
