A celebration of books and writing for students aged 8+ featuring popular Australian authors Tristan Bancks and Oliver Phommavanh, bestselling fantasy author Emily Rodda and acclaimed Irish illustrator Oliver Jeffers.
The writers will perform, read from their work, talk about their craft and take questions from the audience. Students also have the chance to meet the writers and have their books signed.

Tristan Bancks (Australian)
Tristan Bancks loves telling inspiring, fast-moving stories for young people. He has a background as an actor and television presenter and his short films have won a number of awards. Judith Ridge is an internationally recognised specialist in children’s and youth literature. She has been an English teacher, editor, writer, critic and teacher of children’s literature and creative writing. She is currently the project officer for WestWords - the Western Sydney Young People’s Literature Development Project. Oliver Jeffers makes art and tells stories. His picture books have won many prestigious awards. Lost and Found was made into an award-winning animated film and The Heart and the Bottle has been made into a highly acclaimed iPad application. His latest picture books are Stuck and The New Jumper, the first book in his brand-new series, The Hueys. Born in Australia, Oliver grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
Oliver Phommavanh loves to make people laugh, whether it's on the page writing humour for kids or on stage as a stand-up comedian. He also shares his passion for writing with the children he teaches at a primary school in Western Sydney. As a comedian, Oliver has appeared on stage, and on national TV and radio.
