UTS Festival Project
The Department of Writing, Journalism and Social Inquiry at the University of Technology, Sydney, joins with the Festival to produce a daily newsletter during the Festival. Journalism students will report on sessions for the newsletter which will be distributed at Festival venues from Thursday to Sunday.

Biennale
The Biennale of Sydney Presents:
Jimmie Durham - Art as a Part, Trying to Connect
Internationally acclaimed artist, writer and poet and 2004 Biennale of Sydney artist Jimmie Durham presents his engaging storytelling style and provocative views about art and life in a public dialogue with special guest Cheryl Buchanan. Featured at the 1999 Venice Biennale, Durham explores identity, history and human rights.

The Sydney Writer's Festival is a curated event. Major events include Australian and international writers. 90% of events are free and you can simply turn up at the door and find a seat. There are some major events that do attract an entry fee and booking is highly recommended.
